Animated movies have been popular ever since Walt Disney recognized the hold that they have on children. Recently, Marvel following the success of its recent films entered the world of animated movies with ‘Spider-man Into the Spider-verse’. ‘Spider-man Into the Spider-verse’ is one of the most popular animated movies that has had an impact among children. It is one of the most enjoyable movies of recent times.
‘Spider-man Into the Spider-verse’ was produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation with Marvel. The film was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. The movie features the voices of Shameik Morre as Miles Morales. The film follows Miles Morales who lives with his father, a police officer called Jefferson Davis who believes Spider-Man (Peter Parker) is a menace to the city. Miles is bitten by a radioactive spider while returning from a visit to his uncle. He gains abilities similar to that of Spider-Man. He is witness to Spider-Man being severely injured and killed from a confrontation with a villain called Kingpin. Miles decides to become the next Spider-man but Kingpin’s schemes have opened different dimensions from which other Peter Parkers appear. Miles joins hands with the Spider-Men to defeat the villain while taking over as the new Spider-Man.
‘Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse’ received praise from critics for its animation, characters, story and vocal performances. Due to its success, the film won numerous awards. It won the Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards, 46th Annie Awards and the 76th Golden Globe Awards. The movie was also the first non-Disney/Pixar film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature since Rango as well as the first non-Disney/Pixar since Happy Feet (2006) to win the award with a Disney or a Pixar film contending for the award. The film is quite enjoyable especially if you are a regular follower of Marvel films. It is also one of the first animated movies not from Disney or Pixar that follow a superhero storyline. While the movie may not be like a regular superhero film from Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is quite enjoyable, and several humorous instances makes this movie even more entertaining.
