According to child psychologists, it is generally accepted that the human brain continues to grow from birth and throughout life. Its growth rate changes over the years. The most important period in the development of the brain is the period from birth to six years, this is the most favorable time for acquiring skills. As, thanks to sports, a person develops muscles, so his brain, thanks to new knowledge, improves. It is very important that all conditions for the growth and development of the brain are provided, then the physical and intellectual abilities of the child will expand, which means that the human potential will also grow.
Here is a list of some courses for children to help them develop and also help their parents understand these processes:
Teacher – Dr. Dominic William Massaro, Research Professor.
This short course explores the possibility that children can learn written language in the same way they learn spoken language – without training. Parents will come across various aspects of behavioral science and technology that are relevant to this proposal, and will be able to explore the perceptual, cognitive and neurological abilities of children in the early years of their life. You will improve your understanding about children and how they learn.
The course consists of three weeks, which will address the following topics: universal literacy, the differences between spoken and written language, patterns of perception and processing of information, and the consequences of natural acquisition of reading skills. Parents will study the issues of how iconicity affects language learning; infant recognition skills, visual processing when reading, and fast sequential visual processing. The teacher will also explain the nature of reading, common myths about reading, modern approaches to teaching reading, as well as the demographics of literacy and illiteracy and technological innovation.
This course will be directed and focused on you social, cognitive and emotional development of children. The course examines assessment tools and the role of intervention programs in the proper development of a child. The lecture materials cover the following areas: the basics of language in early development, physical growth and development of the nervous system during the first ten years, and the emergence of self-regulation in children.
During the course, research will be conducted on the connections between human nature and the workings of the mind. A number of lecture videos are available, including on child development, which is a definite plus. These videos include discussions about how babies learn, talk about developmental stages known as sensorimotor and preoperative, and theory of mind. Other videos in the course cover topics: brain structure, consciousness, memory, language, personality, and others.
Exams with answers and explanations are included in other available course materials. Infant and Young Child Cognition focuses on how young children learn and gain insight into their immediate world. There is an opportunity to download educational materials, where there are lecture notes that highlight aspects of child development, such as imagination, individualization of objects. Learning can be reinforced by reading courses and assignments.
Teacher – dr. Jorg Huijding, Associate Professor Clinical Child and Family Studies.
In this course, parents will delve into the topic of child development, they will learn about its complexity and how it is influenced by a surprisingly large number of factors at various levels of the organization. One can see and be convinced that development can be studied in different fields and at different levels of understanding, from different perspectives and disciplines. It is important to note that the processes within and between different domains and levels of the organization will be analyzed.
After a general introduction to the course, the focus will be on a systems approach to understanding development. Ways to facilitate this approach will be illustrated. You will be introduced to Dynamics of Youth, a strategic research theme at the University of Utrecht that is designed to promote interdisciplinary research in the development of children and adolescents.
The first week of this course will cover the topic of systems approach to development and introduce you to Youth Dynamics as an example of how this approach can be applied in practice. Also important topics will be: the brain and motor control. Again, cognitive development and its impact on the way children think and act. Another week will focus on the topic of communication and how important it is in society and for the child. The teacher will explain how parents should behave with children in order to show a worthy example of personality in general a lot of people.
This course will help students learn about child development in the context of infancy to adolescence. Various handouts cover developmental theories and concepts, and lectures here focus on normal growth and development, fetal and newborn development, school-age development, and other areas of interest.
By the way, you can purchase these courses using digital currency, which is very convenient.
It is very important to devote time to the development of your child and teach him new things, because insufficient brain stimulation during this period can affect further development. Do not forget that excessive overstrain of the nervous system can negatively affect the development of the child, so do not overload it. Classes with babies should be carried out carefully, carefully, preferably under the guidance of a specialist.
At an early age, the baby learns without stress, that is, plays. At the age of 0 to 3 years, he develops a love of learning, the child learns to concentrate attention, find solutions to complex problems, he increases self-esteem and self-confidence, and most importantly, he “gets acquainted” with his talents and begins to develop them, develops intellectual sphere and, of course, the child learns to speak, his vocabulary increases, his ear for music develops, his horizons expand.
One of the main tasks of a parent is to help and explain to his child how the world works and how, in general, to exist in it.
