Discover the Best Jobs of the Future You Should Consider

All through school you had excellent grades. You know that you are going to make it great in the world. you have stars in your eyes. You are sure to do well. but how will that happen? You have no idea. When people ask you what your ambition is, you give a shy smile. Then you say you don’t know. Yet. You just don’t know what the best job for the future is.

Then suddenly, you have passed high school. You have to choose what subjects you will study in pre-university/plus two/ A levels/IB. Now what? What bachelor degree will get you in the most promising field? Should you go the traditional route of medicine or engineering? Or the upcoming field of Commerce or Finance?

The best job for you is one that you have interest in. And one that pays you very well.  

You go for job fairs. You are confused. After all, this is your life. You don’t want to make a mistake.

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Specialist

Scientists are mortally fearful of Artificial Intelligence (AI). With good reason. You can’t say how it will develop. According to the famous historian Yuval Noah Harari, AI is set to dominate the world in the future.

Forget the future. It has already started to intrude into our everyday lives. What we need is people who can control the AI. People who will teach it to do all the ethical stuff. Not the unethical stuff.

Median Salary for AI related jobs in the United States is $130,000.

You could do a Master’s degree in AI or computer science, or related field. Not to forget – you should also take online artificial intelligence courses to gain expertise in specific niches.

2. Cybersecurity Specialist

How safe is your phone? Is anyone hacking your phone? Is anyone remotely controlling your phone? If you want answers to these questions you need to go to a cybersecurity specialist.

How much is a cybersecurity specialist paid in the US? Their median Salary: $102,600.

Go for at least a Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related field. Master’s degree holders will definitely have an advantage. You should also take online cybersecurity certifications.

3. Data Scientist

Date is all pervasive. It is everywhere. We need people to harness the data.

Median Salary in the United States for a data scientist is $105,560.

What courses should you take to become a data scientist?

A Master’s degree in data science, statistics, or related field. You can also explore online data science courses.

4. Software Developer

Software developers in the United States are typically paid $110,140.

You need to have minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. But that is not enough. Technology in this field is developing at an exponential rate. Therefore, you need to upskill yourself constantly.

5. Financial Analyst

Median Salary in the United States for financial analysts is $93,530.

Education: minimum Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. But a master’s degree and CFA certification can be advantageous. To upskill yourself there are some good financial risk and analysis courses available too.

6. Healthcare Worker

The median salary for a health care professional will vary depending on the specific role. A registered nurse will get on average $77,600 and in the case of a Physician it is $208,000.

Education and training varies depending on the role, but typically it requires specialized training and licensing.

7. Robotics Engineer

The median salary for a robotics engineer is $122,220.

How about education and training? At least a Bachelor’s degree in robotics engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field preferred. Master’s degree can be advantageous.

Final thoughts

Whatever job you choose, the important thing is your knowledge will get outdated. Very, very soon. So, you have to reskill and upskill. Constantly. Without fail. Otherwise, you are out. You are out of the job market. Let behind. That is a terrifying scenario. Isn’t it?

So, in the future, what one needs the most is adaptability. No one knows what jobs in 2030 looks like. It might look straight out of a science fiction movie. Yet, be prepared. Those who are not prepared, will be left behind. No doubt about that. Not only that, one should have the attitude of a learner. You should be willing to learn constantly. Every. Single. Minute. Or, you are out of the rat race.
