Early Childhood Education

The outlook of educating a child has dramatically changed over a few years. Educating a child begins with the type of toys the child play with. Early Childhood Education refers to educating of a child until 8 years of age with a focus on overall development. Early childhood education has been a hidden treasure in the education.

Early childhood education ends before the onset of compulsory education for children. Although the age of ECE is extended to 8 years, it begins so early when the child was an infant. Education doesn’t merely start and end in a class room or within the school premises. Before they enter the world of academic curriculum, experiencing the play way teaching has become quintessential.

Why early childhood education is important?

Children are great imitators and have an excellent observation power. Most kids replicate and represent what they are fed! For instance, they imitate your dressing sense, the way you talk, your emotions, etc. Feeding positive elements during this tender age helps the children learn and nurture themselves as they grow. The experience also provides a strong base to the school education.

Advanced researches on the child psychology and education reveal that the children have the power to learn at the fastest pace until 5 years of age. The brain grows exponentially during these years. It is therefore becomes very crucial to avoid negativity in front of children. Early childhood education is all about play way teaching. With colorful educational toys and learning materials, children can learn effortlessly.

Focus of Early Childhood Education:

Physical Development: learning about the physical and biological functions of the body.

Social Development: Interaction with others, good communication, understanding, ability to join others and work with them, etc.

Emotional development: Developing confidence, expression of feelings, emotional rapport, self-management, etc.

Language: development of language skills, ability to express through language, vocabulary building, etc.

Cognitive development: The way a child perceives and responds information. It includes creativity, problem solving, memory, etc.

Early childhood education is all about the combination of physical, psychological, intelligential, social and emotional learning. Parents as well as the care takers play the vital role in molding the kid and helping the kid acquire such knowledge. It includes, social interaction, communication, adapting to organized environment, a self-sense, getting along well with good manners, etc.

It will be difficult to forgive or forget a habit that you develop in the childhood. Doesn’t make sense to set a good foundation through early childhood education? You don’t need to teach anything to the children, rather create an atmosphere which enables the children to learn.

Proper development of younger ones are greatly influenced and inspired by the education given to them in the early years. Simply, it is termed as ‘Learning while playing!’
