What is 2048?

2048 is an online mental agility game, the objective of which is to add enough tiles to fill one for a total of 2048. It is a grid made up of 16 tiles or boxes. In these boxes the number 2 appears and when combined they will be added and larger numbers will be formed.

That is, by combining 2 boxes with the number 2, they will add up and form the number 4, 8 can be formed from 4 and so on, until the number 2048 is formed. Once you manage to form 2048, you will win the game and go to another level where bigger and bigger numbers will appear.

Now you will have to achieve bigger goals like the numbers 4096, 8192, among others. The 2048 game was invented in 2014 by a 19-year-old Italian named Gabriele Cirulli, who was based on the 1024 game from Weewo Studios.

How to play 2048: step by step

Below we mention the steps you must follow to play 2048, you must take them into account so that you can develop the game properly.

  • Identify the sections of the game and follow the directions.
  • At the top of the screen you will find some boxes in which the points you accumulate are indicated, as well as a button to start a new game.
  • Analyze the game grid and determine where you want to start.
  • You will need to select a tile on which you want to put the number 2048.
  • If you play from a computer you must move the numbers with the arrow keys on the keyboard.

How is it solved?

Although 2048 is very simple to play, it requires you to speed up your mind and make the right decisions as it becomes more complicated over time.

To make it easier for you to reach your goal and become an expert, we recommend you put the following tips into practice:

  1. Select a master corner, that is, a corner in which you intend to generate the number 2048.
  2. Combine the tiles in the direction of the master corner.
  3. Place the leading move in the master corner, the leading move is the highest number rolled in each play.
  4. Preferably do not move the tiles away from the master corner, as you can generate “zombie” tiles that are low numbers surrounded by high numbers.
  5. Block the master column, this is done by placing 4 different numbers.
  6. Moves the tiles of a master column downward, generating a stair.
  7. Avoid building two stairs at the same time.
  8. Make risky moves when the game is very late and your leader has the number 1024.
