How To Do Car Window Tinting in Just 3 Simple Steps?

Car window tinting is a simple and quick way. Here are 3 simple steps for you:

1. Preparing Your windows

  • Prepare the environment: To start tinting car windows, it’s best practice to clean them in a clean and dry workplace. Because dust and dirt can affect tinting.
  • Remove stickers and adhesive things: Clean the windows by removing stickers, adhesive objects and obstructions outside and inside the cars and overall clean the car glass.
  • Clean windows with soap water or a razer blade: Use dishwasher detergent and hot water to clean the windows inside and outside properly. After that, use a razor blade to deeply rinse off all the dirt and grim.
  • Take a rag and dry the windows: Now take a clean rag and dry the windows properly. Lower the windows, and clean and dry the top of windows properly too, most cleaners don’t clean out this part.
  • Determine tinting adhesiveness: The tint has a peelable layer like a sticker before it is attached to the window. When working with the tint, look towards this side.

2. Cutting And Measuring Your Tint

  • Spray the outside of windows with soap water: Now spray the outside of the windows with soapy detergent in your spray bottle. This will temporarily adhere to the tinting, but it will be slippy at the time.
  • Place the tinting film on the outside of the window, to take its size: Now unroll the tinting, and place it on your car window. Make sure to take 2 to 3 inches extra from each edge. Also ensure that the tinting is by your side. Don’t peel off the liner, as you’re just taking measurements.
  • Cut a usable slab of tinting: As you have done, take extra inches of tinting film. There’s no need to take a tinting roller all the time. Use a knife or blade to cut it, to your measurable size and keep the roller side.
  • Spray the film with water: Once you cut down the tint film, spray the front of the tinting film with soap water so that it sticks to glass windows.
  • Cut the bottom and left edges of the window: Trace the edges of the windows with a knife across the tinting film. Trace it perfect line to make sure that tint fits well. After that, ensure that two edges fit perfectly, and the others are in square shape. When done cutting, discard the film away.
  • Shift the film 1″ towards the left edge: After cutting the first edge, you should push the tint toward this edge as well. This way, you will have put enough tint to cover every inch of the window.
  • Cut the right edge and then slide halfway back toward tints: Once you trim off one side’s outermost border, drawback halfway to the center of tinting where it is approximately one-half-inch on either side of the window.
  • Pull the film down about an inch so that the bottom edge is below the window: It would be nice if this were tinted because it will go in a door and give a better light seal. Squeeze it downwards then squeeze it back into place. In fact, you will do all this again for the top and bottom edges after accomplishing similar for the right and left sides.
  • Lower your window by ½” and then use its top end to cut out appropriate shapes: Finally, when it’s down use this upper part of a window as your reference point. Carefully slice until you reach the utmost position of a window with a precision knife.
  • Clean all the corners with a knife: When cutting the film, some extra inches of film are also added. Use the knife to cut this extra inch of film and clean it properly.
  • Realign your film with some excess on every edge: The cutting edges may not properly stick with the glass sometimes. Use soap water, remove the cutting edges a little bit, and spray the glass so that it sticks with it properly.
  • Use a hard card and heat gun to remove the bubbles: With the help of a hard card from the top to downward, remove all the air and bubbles. Use a heat gown parallel so that the film dries out properly and sticks to the glass.

3. Adhering The Tint

  • Peel off the window film: to adhere it more properly, peel the film one time and use a spray of soapy water to stick it with the film accurately. After the spray, stick the film with windows, and use a hard card and heat gun once again to properly adhere the tint with glass so that there’s no issue left behind.
  • Final inspection: Now take a final look at your work. Check from both inside and outside of the car so that if there are any imperfections you can remove them on time.
