The first step to good study habits is a dedicated area. A quiet, tidy space allows students to concentrate and associate that space with productivity. Whether it is a desk in the bedroom or a cozy nook in the living room, ensure it is free of distractions. Parents may even read key lessons aloud before bedtime – a technique known to boost memory retention during sleep. Just be cautious that the study space isn’t too comfortable—like the bed—to prevent dozing off mid-task.

Break down large tasks into smaller ones, which can make the process of studying less daunting. Instead of trying to read an entire textbook chapter, master one section at a time.
