Responsible Me
My name is Nick and I am student of class 3. I am the only child of my parents. Like every day, my school finishes in the afternoon and my mom comes to pick me up at the bus stop. When I come back from school, I eat some of my favorite fruits. After relaxing for a while, I play with toys. I also like to read story books. These days I am spending some time to learn from mobile internet.
My father works in a multinational telecom company and has taught me how mobile internet is changing people’s lives. My parents showed me how to use mobile internet and apps in the right way. Learning has become easier and faster with mobile internet. Whenever I have questions, I go to my father and sometimes when he also doesn’t know, we together learn from google.
It was monsoon season and one day it was raining heavily. I went to school and then my mother went out for some work hoping that she would be back home before I come back. When my school bus stopped at my society gate, my eyes were searching for my mother and I found that she was not there. I was a little nervous and then the bus driver tried to call my father. But, my father was not reachable. Then I suddenly realized to call my mom. Since I remembered my mother’s phone number, I asked the bus driver, “Uncle can I call my mother?” The driver uncle happily gave me his phone and then I called my mother and luckily the call got through. She said over phone, “Oh my dear, I am sorry, I am stuck in the traffic jam. Just stay there I will be there shortly”. Talking to her gave me a lot of comfort.
Then my mother arrived in few minutes. She then hugged me and said that I behaved like a thoughtful child today. She praised me in-front of everyone mentioning that I could remember her phone number and contact her. I also felt very happy about it.
Next morning due to bad weather my mother was sick, and my father was also not there. I noticed that she had severe cold and fever. So, I asked my mom about the medicines and searched the pharmacy number on internet. I could find the one near my residence. Thanks to Papa who taught me earlier how to search information on google.
I called pharmacy and asked uncle to deliver medicines at my residence address at the earliest.
After medicines and rest for few hours, my mother was feeling better. In the meanwhile, I completed my homework too.
My mother was so happy to realize that I have become so responsible and caring now. After these happenings, I learnt a lesson that we can do wonders if the technology and information is used in the right way. This is also essential for learning and growth.
