The Farm to the Town Adventure
Once upon a time there was a large farm with a green forest between it and the town. One summer day the farmer’s son, Fred, was coming to feed the hens. Then Lucy, one of the hens, asked Fred, “Wouldn’t it be nice to go to the town?”
“Yes! I bet I know just how to do that. Since the woods would be scary, we could use my two hang gliders and two pairs of goggles. I could have you on my back and I could climb to the top of the barn, sail to the town, buy a house, and make a living,” Fred replied. The next day… “Let’s go!” yelled Fred over the wind. They both launched off the barn and sailed towards the woods. Later, sailing over the woods…
Suddenly Lucy yelled, “The wind changed directions and we’re heading for a crash landing!” Smack! Crack! Lucy thought, “Now what?” As Fred glanced up to the sky again, he saw a white object flying their way!
I’m a raccoon named Peter and I was flying my airplane when I saw two hang gliders on the ground in the woods. Then I thought to myself, ‘I think I see a person down there.’ So, then I decided to go down and check it out. Sure enough, when I landed there was a man, well a boy probably about eleven, down there and a hen, too. I was glad no one was hurt and I asked them if they needed a lift. They said yes, so we set off. Four minutes later…. We agreed that we all wanted to live together in the town and we had just landed there a minute ago.
“Yay!” exclaimed Fred. “We’re at the town!”
“Look at that shack over there. I don’t think we’ll need to buy a house even!” Lucy clucked.
“I like the sound of this, so can we please plant some corn in the field by the house?” I begged.
“Yes!” said Fred. “We could be farmers!” Then they happily lived in the town as farmers.
